About
Plants, soil, and care, kept in local circulation.
SOIL.D is a circular-economy service for plants, cuttings, soil, seeds, balcony and garden surplus, and plant care. We connect a digital platform with local exchange stations so plants and materials don't only circulate physically. They get documented, tracked, and supported through long-lived care histories.
What we do
- Reuse and recirculation. Plants, cuttings, soil, pots, and accessories exchanged, sold, gifted, or rehomed locally.
- Care instead of replacement. Neighbors swap watering visits, repotting, plant sitting, and health checks.
- Tracking instead of disposability. Plants get photos, notes, and AI-assisted health histories.
- Soil & environmental layer. Pilot ground for sensor work, soil health, and exchange logistics.
- Local knowledge circulation. Care tips and observations become shared community value.
Who builds it
SOIL.D is developed and operated by Andres Villa Torres (industrial + interaction designer, software engineer) and Grete Soosalu (architect, GIS expert, product engineer).
The infrastructure is intentionally lean and self-hosted, designed to run on a small, resource-conscious, solar-supported setup.
Where it runs
The platform is paired with physical pilot stations: trust-based drop-off and pick-up points, small soil and plant-health corners, and self-service containers for cuttings, produce, and seeds. Stations connect back to your digital plant profiles so a swap leaves a trace, not a dead-end.
